Fried Sliced Meat serve in Sweet and Sour Sauce (糖醋炸肉片)

Bought 2 pkt of frozen slice meat. After using 1 pkt, was wondering what to cook with the other. So suddenly decided to it in the sweet and sour style. Seriously speaking, I don't know how others do it, so I uses my intuition and do it. The taste was just right.



Ingredient

1. Frozen Slice pork - 1pkt (defroze and marinate with pepper, sesame oil, 1tbsp light soy sauce, cooking wine.)

2. Green pepper - 1 fruit ( remove the inner of it and cut into bite size)

3. Tomato - 1 fruit (cut into slices or can use cherry tomatoes)

4. Ketchup - 6 tbsp

5. White vinegar - 2 tbsp

6. Sugar - 1 tbsp

7. Salt - 1 pinch

8. Egg - 1pc

9. Cornflour - 3 tbsp


Preparation

1. Marinate the meat and leave it in fridge for at least 2hrs.


2. Crack an egg into the marinated meat and mix well.


3. Add 3 tbsp of Cornflour to the marinated meat and egg, mixed them well.


The Dish

1. Heat wok with high and add ample oil for deep frying. Once it is smoking hot, add in the meat in batches. Make sure you separate them or they will turn out in chunks.


2. Once it turns golden brown, remove from oil and place on kitchen towel. (Repeat the process with the rest of the meat.)


3. Remove oil leaving only 2tbsp in the wok. Heat it up, stir fry the prepared green pepper and add about 100ml of water.


4. Introduce 6tbsp of ketchup, 2 tbsp of vinegar, 1 tbsp of sugar into the wok and bring to boil. while waiting, mix 2 tsp of Cornflour with 3 tsp of water and mixed it evenly.


5. Upon boiling, add in the tomatoes and allow it to boil a while more. Once bubbling, pour in the prepared Cornflour liquid and quickly stir it. The content will start to turn gluey and off heat.


6. Pour all the fried meat back into the wok and make sure every piece is evenly coated.


7. Place everything onto your serving plate and you are ready to serve.
