"Chap Barang" Fried Rice (5 pax)
Ingredients 1. Plain Rice - 5 bowl (approx. 1 bowl per pax) 2. Red wine sausage - 2 pcs (diced) 3. Mix veggies - half a bowl 4. Eggs - 2pcs 5. Beansprout - half a bowl 6. Chicken franks - 3 pcs (diced) 7.Prawns - 6 pcs ( deshell and diced) 8. Fishcake - 1 pcs (cut into small strips) 9. Garlic - 2 cloves (minced) 10. Fish sauce - 1tbsp 11. Salt - as per desire 12. Indonesian sweet soya sauce - 2 tsp
Preparation 1.Stir fry the 2 eggs with oil and after that remove n set aside for later usage.
2. Marinate the diced chicken n prawns with some light soya sauce, pepper, sasame oil and corn flour. Mix them well and set aside.
The Dish 1. Heat wok, add 4 tbsp of oil and start to saute the minced garlic till fragrant.
2. Add in the Fishcake, diced chicken and prawns. Do a quick stir frying and add the sausages and mixed veggies to stir fry for 30 secs and process to add in the desire amount of rice. Remember to turn up to high heat.
3. Make sure you press your rice while in the wok so that you can break the rice that are in lumps. Remember to keep repeating the stir frying action to prevent the rice from getting charred.
4. After frying for about 5mins, add in the fish sauce and the prepared eggs, mix it well with the rest of the content and sprinkle the desired amount of salt and grounded pepper onto the content and mixed well.
5. Add in the Indonesian sweet soya sauce to give the rice a more appealing colour.
6. When the content is almost done, add in the Beansprout and mix it well with contents for 1min, off the heat and you are ready to serve your dish.
Note that you can use your creativity to add whatever ingredients you want. No need to stick to what I used.
