Steamed Minced Meat patty with Preserved Lettuce. (罐头菜心蒸肉饼)


Ingredient

1. Canned preserved lettuce - 15pcs (diced into bite size)

2. Minced meat - 150g (marinate with cooking wine, pepper, salt, light soya sauce and sesame oil)

3. Shredded ginger - 4 slices and shred.

4. Egg - 1PC

5. Water - 4tbsp


The Dish

1.Using a flat base serving plate, Mixed the diced lettuce with the marinated mince meat well.


2. Break an egg into the mixture and stir well.


3. Add the 4 tbsp of water and continue to mixed it well and flat the surface of the mixture. (Note, you can choose not to add water but do note that the meat texture will be hard n dry. Adding some water to it will ensure the meat to be moist and soft.)


4. Place the shredded ginger on top of the meat mixture


5. Heat up your steaming utensils. Once the water is boiling, place in the dish and steam it for 12 to 15mins. After you have off the heat, leave it inside for about 2mins before uncovering and you are ready to serve your dish.


I served this dish together with sweet potatoes porridge and Dace fish with salted black beans. Yummy yummy, kind of retro! Reminds me of my childhood days.
